Soap & Glory - Sexy Mother Pucker lipstick in You Say Tomato

Don't be too hasty to say goodbye to the summer just yet. Instead of putting the bright colours to the back of your cabinets and bringing forward the wines and deep nudes, hold your horses. Just because the weather that turned slightly sour doesn't mean that your look must too!

If you want to keep the warmth of summer alive for that little bit longer, Soap & Glory have you covered. Among their new shades in glitzy sweet wrapper packaging lies You Say Tomato - a blushing, hot red that awakens your complexion.

This shade is rich in gorgeous orange and red tones, which makes it a joyful colour. It's bright, fun and unforgettable. It's also packed with moisture so it has tonnes of shine, giving your lips a 3D element.

Soap & Glory is a great brand when it comes to cosmetics, and if this colour wasn't beautiful enough, it definitely wins brownie points from me just by the name alone.

Colour Intensity: high

Finish: creamy, high shine

Overall Rating: 4/5

You'll like this if: you have pale skin. This tone looks amazing against a cool, pale complexion

Perfect for: date night, days out, beating winter blues, with subtle make-up

Lipstick Queen in Saint Deep Red

If I had to choose between the two Lipstick Queen alter egos, I would definitely say I'm more Sinner than Saint. Let me clarify that that's no reflection of me or my everyday life, before you start asking questions. Just purely that I prefer the more pigmented lipsticks than their 10% colour counterparts.

I prefer Sinner up to a certain extent and when it came to Deep Red, I knew the Saint version was definitely for me.

We all know how popular Rimmel's 107 shade became the moment that Zoella marked it as her signature shade a few years ago, so deep wine lipsticks bursting with a strong colour laydown are nothing new. But beautiful burgundy red in its purest form definitely is rare. I have never seen a dark lipstick as delicate as this, and that is incredibly refreshing.

Saint Deep Red loads my lips with moisture and leaves behind a gorgeous, supple shade of deep red. It's just enough to give a boost of colour and is perfect all year round. It's incredibly thirst quenching and holds a lot of benefits in its tine form, like lashing of Vitamin E. So it does good too!

Colour Intensity: low

Finish: moisturising, shine

Overall Rating: 4/5

You'll like this if: you want to add a delicate wine shade to your dark collection

Perfect for: every day, with a natural look

MAC - Cremesheen lipstick in Speed Dial

Another oldie in the MAC collection, Speed Dial is a pretty colour that anyone with a love for pink should own. This beautiful, pocket sized lipstick is a gorgeous, soft cool pink that is ideal for a cool to neutral complexion.

Although a girly colour, Speed Dial isn't an intense pink. The Cremesheen finish has enough colour pay-off but won't paint your lips. The moisturising feel makes Speed Dial a very comfortable everyday pink.

I love wearing this to perk up my complexion. It's an instant hit of colour without taking over your look. The only downfall for me is that the colour doesn't last as long as some others, but this is still a MAC lipstick I have got a lot of use from.

Colour Intensity: medium

Finish: moisturising, slight sheen

Overall Rating: 3/5

You'll like this if: you want a pretty MAC pink

Perfect for: everyday, office wear, date night, cool to neutral skin tones

MAC - Frost lipstick in Costa Chic

For the young ones among you who are looking to try your very first voluptuous colour, Costa Chic is the way to go. The richness of the almost fluorescent coral is bright, fresh and fun. Costa Chic is that naughty colour you put on for a first date, or a fun day out with your friends.

Belonging to the "Frost" crew, Cosa Chic is not just a block colour - instead is contains a beautiful, iridescent sheen that gives this shade another dimension. Unlike so many within the Frost collection, Costa Chic can very easily be worn on its own, whereas some others are better suited as an additional layer to another lipstick.

Costa Chic feels a little bit like the younger sister of Vegas Volt. The tone is very similar, but Costa Chic is more on the lighter side. If you feel that Vegas Volt is a little bit too intense for you, try this one instead. It will brighten up your day!

Colour Intensity: high

Finish: creamy, moisturising, slight pearly sheen

Overall Rating: 4/5

You'll like this if: you are looking for a very first vivacious colour lipstick

Perfect for: days out with friends, first dates, warm skin tones

MAC - Amplified lipstick in Vegas Volt

Vegas Volt is by no means a newbie. It's a MAC colour that has been doing its rounds for a while, and despite it popping up occasionally in the blogosphere, it's a fully loaded shade that is unfortunately sometimes overlooked.

Branded in blushing mix of orange and pink, Vegas Volt is no wallflower. This beautiful coral is bright and vivacious, demanding the attention that it requires. It's the perfect mixture of plump pink and intense orange making it the ideal coral. It's this blend that makes it such a perfect colour for so many skin tones.

MAC's Amplified finish means that it's not just the colour that is intense, but also the texture. Vegas Volt is a rich, creamy mix of colour that feels very glossy on the lips.

If you're going to pick a bright colour this weekend, make it Vegas Volt.

Colour Intensity: high

Finish: creamy, moisturising

Overall Rating: 5/5

You'll like this if: you're not ready to say goodbye to long, Summer nights

Perfect for: date night, nights out with friends, every day, every skin tone, wearing with a navy blue nail polish

Lipstick Queen - Velvet Rope lipstick in Star System

I'm not feeling very glamorous at the moment. I'm sitting in my living room in a pair of old Primark leggings and a pyjama top that says "Grumpy Before Coffee", having just helped myself to a massive serving of Chicken Pie from Joe Wick's Lean in 15 recipe book (possibly the least healthiest meal in the entire book). I also have The Body Shop's Amazonian Acai face mask liberally on my face, which has left me looking like I've dipped myself in a barrel of jam.

It's ironic that I'm about to review one of the most glamorous lipsticks I own, but it's Sunday night and we could all do with a little last minute weekend glamour before the Monday blues well and truly kick in.

I don't need to keep repeating that I'm a huge fan of Lipstick Queen, because if you've read my blog before you would know how much I adore it.

Star System is a subtle yet seductive shade that with enrich your lips in a delicate peachy nude. It belongs to the Velvet Rope range which promises pigment-rich colour with the intensity of matte but without compromising on comfort. You only need one gentle swipe of this stick for a feather light finish that has massive staying power.

If you're a fan of nudes and don't need to crimson your lips for full on glamour, then Star System is the lipstick for you. Yes, it's on the pricey side but worth it when it looks good AND does good. The Velvet Rope range has a formula that is swirled with Vitamin E and Apricot Oil to leave your lips silky smooth. Plus the added drop of Peppermint Oil adds a delicate, fresh tone.

A lipstick truly for all senses.

Colour Intensity: low to medium

Finish: semi matte - no real shine but very delicate texture

Overall Rating: 5/5

You'll like this if: you love Nude colours and want a lipstick that reigns over the rest

Perfect for: wanting to impress, fair to neutral skin tones, date night, every day wear, office wear

Beauty: 7 Days in 7 Lipsticks

I'm back from the beach and into reality. I had 7 splendid days in Corfu and am missing it terribly, but thought doing a little bit of a diary piece on which lipsticks I wore may help the holiday blues.

1. On Monday... I wore Tom Ford Lips & Boys lipstick in Patrick

This was airport day and I like to keep my clothing comfortable and casual, so I like to choose a bright colour for a lipstick to make me look a little less like I rolled out of bed 15 minutes ago in a state of panic. I haven't yet reviewed this, but Patrick is a beautiful pinky coral colour that feels delicate and moisturising. It's dinky size means it's perfect for on-the-go.

2. On Tuesday... I wore NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Juan

I love these lip creams. The texture is so light and airy but the colour lasts so long, and the amount of shades you can choose from is amazing. Tuesday was day one by the pool so I wanted to wear something that was waterproof. The zesty, bright orange colour is ideal for Summer and is made for pool-side glam. I wore this with round sunglasses and a very big hat in a resort that was 50% families, 40% old couples and 10% young couples. A little out of place but still felt great!

3. On Wednesday... I wore By Terry Baume De Rose Nutri Couleur in Cherry Bomb

After a couple of days in scorching weather the delicate skin on your lips really feels the heat, so it's always good to take a trusted lip balm with you to quench them. By Terry's Baume de Rose is by far my favourite lip balm. It's a little bit of the pricey side, but it's so nourishing and the tinted collection is perfect for Summer.

4. On Thursday... I wore Lipstick Queen in Bright Natural Sinner

We booked a day trip to Albania to explore that particular section of the country just because it's so close to Corfu. With a day filled with tour guides and walking I wanted a lipstick that didn't require a lot of re-applying but was still fairly natural. Bright Natural Sinner worked a treat. The colour is similar to MAC's Velvet Teddy and Nars' Anna. This was my little pool side companion for the rest of my holiday - I loved it so much.

5. On Friday... I wore NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Manilla

Friday date night. We had a lovely romantic meal on the beach and Manilla's fiery pinky red shades were offset perfectly against a Corfu sunset.

6. On Saturday... I wore MAC Lustre lipstick in Flamingo

My attempt at having poolside glamour every single day started to diminish by the end of the week. There are only so many judgemental looks you can take from 6o year olds, so I thought I'd tone it down slightly with Flamingo. This is such a pretty, pink lipstick that it looks so flattering in the Summer.

7. On Sunday... I wore MAC Frost lipstick in Sandy B

Flying home day! Sandy B is a beautiful peachy pink with a radiant gold glow. This shimmers beautifully against the sun and I wanted it to capture as many sun rays as possible so I can bring the sunshine back to England. Sandy B is light enough as a colour to wear every day, but it's also such a glam lipstick that it makes me feel instantly better when I put this on.

Back to work now after an amazing week off, but only a few more weeks and it's Mauritius time!!!
