Lipstick Queen - 7 Deadly Sins Lip Gloss in Indolence

If your deadly sin is laziness, this pretty lip gloss if for you.

As much as I buy lipsticks and lip glosses based on their names, it's rare that their name would truly reflect what the colour is (unless it's something incredibly obvious like red...or something!) Lipstick Queen's Indolence really lives up to its name because if you're truly lazy with make-up, then this is your saviour.

I'm not saying laziness is a bad thing - I think laziness really pays off when it comes to make-up; think slept in smoky eyes and dabbed on red lips, and although Indolence isn't quite that strong, it's definitely enough to pick up your look.

The gloss is soft, non-sticky and the colour pay-off is actually higher than you would think. It doesn't last a long time but this is to be expected with lip glosses.

I've got a few of this delicious lip glosses and I can safely say that if lip glosses are your chosen lip accessory, you cannot go wrong with Lipstick Queen.

Colour Intensity: low

Tom Ford - Lips and Boys in Addison

Imagine yourself at your job. Day in, day out creating an amazing marketing campaign, pitching that presentation to pure perfection, or even nailing your barista routine to the point where your average customer waits only 109 seconds. It doesn't matter how hard we work because sometimes the things we desire and want are just outside of our pay packet.

Tom Ford is pure and simply a luxury brand, so buying a lipstick within the range is a real treat. Which is why I think it's genius that they brought out the Lips & Boys range. Beautiful, rich colours and amazing Tom Form quality in a slightly smaller form and much more affordable.

Perusing through the range and deciding which 'boy' to take home with me at Selfridges, I chose Addison - a beautifully creamy nude pink.

Addison is a lovely little lipstick to take you straight from day to night. It's creamy formula and rosy colour is beautiful for everyday office wear, but still rich enough to gloss up your lips in the evening.

I love this range and think it's a terrific idea to get us hard-workers into the realm of luxury without breaking the bank too much.

Colour Intensity: low

Finish: creamy, moisturising, slight gloss

Overall Rating: 5/5

You'll like this if: you want a taste of high end fashion without the price tag

Perfect for: all occasions, office wear, date night, days out

Urban Decay - Vice lipstick in Tilt

It's likely that you have heard about this range already. I mean, it's been hard not to. With the launch of the Gwen Stefani colours last year, Urban Decay reinforced this even more with a colab with Disney dreamy classic, Alice In Wonderland Collection. And before we knew it, there were 40 shades in total. BAM! Overnight!

In my opinion, this is how you should launch a range. So many brands out there tend to start with a couple of colours and leave you hanging to the point that you're bored. Not Urban Decay though. They give you all the colours and finishes you could possibly desire all at once!

My first desire from this range came in the form of a tantalising orange-red lipstick called Tilt.

Vice have a range of different finishes - to the point that they will easily rival MAC. Tilt belongs to the Comfort Matte selection and this range is aptly named because mattes tend to be difficult to get used to. There are so many matte lipsticks out there that resemble a finish closer to a newly cemented pavement than a soft to the touch velvet cushion.

Tilt is a stunning colour. This shade of crimson with a splurge of warmth is probably my most go-to-red. It's high impact, sexy, strong but the red isn't over-consuming. Instead its softened with a burst of orange to give you a sunshine finish.

Comfort Matte feels exactly like it says on the tin. It's creamy enough to glide on easily, but doesn't dry to the point where you can't even smile. It stays gloriously smooth for the entire application, and even two meals down and a few glasses of wine (Ok, it was actually beer - was trying to sound sophisticated!), Tilt stayed put in all its sunset glory.

Tilt has been a great first lipstick to try in the all new Urban Decay Vice range, so I'm looking forward to venturing into its broad colour palette.

Colour Intensity: high

Finish: matte - but still creamy with a touch of gloss

Overall Rating: 4/5

You'll like this if: you want a matte that stays smooth all day, with a burst of colour

Perfect for: glam nights out, if you're looking for a brighter red, Summer evenings, date night!

Kevyn Aucoin lipstick in Falon

Ok, so I've been out of the blogosphere for a while now. It's shocking to think that my last lipstick review was in June...and now it's August??? How did that happen?

I've had a lot of work trips - from Spain to Switzerland to New York, I've actually felt like my feet have barely touched the ground, and when they have, well, they've been chasing Pokemon.

But now work trips have subsided so my attention is back on what I love to do - preach about a latest lipstick I have spent ludicruous amounts of money on.

Enter Falon by Kevyn Aucoin.

This is only the second lipstick I have clasped at Space NK from this particular brand and I'm really wondering why it's taken me so long to fall in love with Kevyn Aucoin.

Falon is beautiful. Its texture feels like liquid pearl glossed over your pout to make you feel like true Hollywood glamour. Despite the muted colour, there is nothing 'backstage' about this lipstick - it's moisturising, supple and smells amazing!

Falon is explained as being a 'baby pink', which I'm not sure is the correct explanation. When I think baby pink, I think cool, soft pinks. You know, the kind you find in the girl section of Mothercare. That thought is probably enough to put off a hoard of you, so I'm going to bring some reassurance and tell you that there is nothing baby pink about this lipstick.

Falon is a warm pink - it borders on coral which is what makes this so wearable for so many skin tones. It's a friendly colour, but punchy enough to make it wearable for both day and night. For those feeling less colour-brave, I really recommend this as your next step to get you more confident.

With the attention that mattes have got over the last few years, I think it's about time creamy, classy lipstick finishes made a comeback and no better lipstick to take centre stage than Falon.

Colour Intensity: medium

Finish: subtle sheen, moisturising and light

Overall Rating: 5/5 - a truly perfect lipstick

You'll like this if: you want a summer shade that is light and fruity

Perfect for: Summer, every day, evenings out, at the beach
