Butter - Lippy Moisture Matte Lipstick in Toff

Butter is a new make-up favourite that I've discovered very recently. Their entire range is great and I love the cheeky sense of humour in each name. And the main reason I opted for this colour was purely to do with the name. Toff, here in Britain, is used when speaking about certain people raised with silver spoons. Definitely not saying I'm one of them, but with a Home Counties accent and good grammar skills, people just assume.

Anyway, this velvety lipstick is a dreamy, girly pink. Ideal for every day, it has enough warm flecks in the colour to suit even sallow tones, which is why I love this so much. The texture is amazing - it leaves a beautiful, matte finish with lasting power.

The packaging is also great and very easy to apply.

Colour Intensity: medium

Finish: matte, very soft sheen

Overall Rating: 5/5

Topshop lipstick in Wicked

I'm getting to the point now where lipsticks are the first thing I go and check out when at Topshop, but because I now have so many, finding a shade I love is becoming challenging.

Wicked stood out for me because despite loving dark, sultry, wintery shades, I don't have very many. I pick my favourites and I stick to them.

When you first pick out the colour it looks like a deep brown, but once on skin, this beauty is more of a chocolate cherry. The red and purple nuances make this shade that little bit more wearable and festive. It's definitely a colour that can be specific to Topshop - not many other shades like this.

The colour and texture last for a while, and if you're shy of dark berries, then give this one a try.

I love wearing this with glowing skin and simple eye make-up.

Colour Intensity: high

Finish: creamy with some gloss

Overall rating: 3/5 - loses a couple of points because it transfers easily

MAC - Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Look Lively

MAC's Patenpolish lip pencils are perfect for high colour and high shine with a lipstick texture. Look Lively is a stunning light pink that is innocent and sweet. It offers subtle colour for a dewy, pretty complexion but with a long lasting effect.

Unlike other lip pencils, there's no need to sharpen - simply twist to get more out of it. This isn't my favourite MAC as I'm not a fan of an overly pale lip look, but if you are, then this is the one for you.

Colour Intensity: low

Texture: creamy finish

Overall Rating: 3/5 - only because I'm not a fan of the colour on me

Lipstick Queen - Cupid's Bow in Nymph

I've actually had this nifty little lip pencil for a year, so apologies that I'm only now getting round to reviewing.

Yet again, Lipstick Queen have a range that is making me want to get each and every one. Packed in gorgeous cases that reflect the colour of the pencil, I first opted for Nymph. A beautiful, blushed rosey wine, Nymph is a perfect every day lip crayon/pencil.

Use it initially to trace the outline of your lips, then fill in with colour. The intensity is perfect and you get the desired colour with one application. If you're worried about the faff of sharpening, rest assured as this lovely lip tool comes with a handy sharpener. Definitely worth the investment.

It's very easy to use and the thickness of the pencil means you can get your Cupid's bow just right!

Colour Intensity: medium

Finish: satin softness with little shine

Overall Rating: 4/5

Bourjois - Rouge Edition in 04 Peach Club

Liquid lipsticks have become a real trend in the last couple of years, and despite the fact that I've had this little beauty for a while, I'm only just getting around to a review - sorry!

Bourjois for me were the real trendsetters of this for drug stores, and they've made it very difficult for rivals to follow. Affordable prices, reasonable colour choice and a great long-lasting formula means that once you've hot your hands on this, why would you go anywhere else?

Out of all high street brands, Bourjois also has the most personality so I naturally gravitate towards it.

Peach Club was a real staple for me, and now that I've tried it on for the first time in a year, I'm wondering why I ever stopped wearing it.

This rich coral glides on like silk and leaves a velvety finish to your lips. Long lasting with a real punch, this is truly your best option if you want a liquid lipstick without luxury prices.

Colour Intensity: high

Finish: matte cream

Overall Rating: 4/5

NudeStix in Sin

Over the last year I have become a massive fan of NudeStix. As you can probably imagine, the products do exactly what they say on the tin - beautiful makeup that emphasises your natural beauty. Simple, pure but powerful, NudeStix lip pencils come in a cute, black tin as well as a handy sharpener, so they are perfect for on the go.

All the products I have from there so far have been very neutral nudes, so I was surprised that this colour was a little more fruity than the rest. Sin is a gorgeous rosey berry that will perk up your complexion.

I like to use this as a lip liner first and then fill in the colour. The texture is semi-matte which means it feels comfortable but is long lasting, and definitely no transfer.

If you want a NudeStix eye partner for Sin, try out Smoke. It's a greyish/brown eye pencil that compliments the colour perfectly. These are my current partners in crime!

Colour Intensity: medium

Finish: semi-matte

Overall Rating: 3/5 - only because I hate sharpening things (sorry, I'm lazy!)

Collection - Little Mix lipstick in Perrie

If you want the perfect dupe for MAC's Up The Amp, Perrie's lipstick in the Collection...collection is the lipstick for you!

A whirl of pretty violets and pinks, this beautiful colour is vibrant, punchy and definitely not subtle. It's one of those colours that doesn't really have a season - this shade is pretty enough for summer but still strong enough for the winter months.

I was actually shocked when I found out that this is only £2.99, because the feel and texture is really good. The colour glides on and leaves a vivid finish straight away. It's also a comfortable, hydrating formula to wear.

But, if your teeth are more on the yellow side, definitely not for you. The colour really brings out the sallow tones of both skin and teeth so it may make warmer complexions look unhealthy.

Colour Intensity: high

Finish: moisturising with a subtle sheen

Overall rating: 3/5
